Hands Full Dog Training, LLC Policies

This page is an overview of our most important policies.  It is not a comprehensive listing, and does not take precedent over any signed contract between you and Hands Full Dog Training, LLC. Our specific policies are listed in each individual service contract.  If you register for services, you will be presented with a copy of the applicable contract for your review online.  We recommend you read the contract in its entirety.

Refunds:

Private training sessions are refundable up to 48 hours before the first scheduled appointment.  Private training appointments and packages are not refundable, in whole or in part, after this 48 hour window has passed.

Group training classes are not refundable.  If enrollment is cancelled a week or more before class is scheduled to begin, the client will receive 100% of their fee credited on their account toward future services.

Cancellations and Makeups:

Private training sessions may be re-scheduled with no penalty up to 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. Appointments cancelled after this window has passed will not be credited. Appointments cancelled by Hands Full Dog Training, LLC due to inclement weather will be credited in full. Appointments cancelled due to a medical emergency by the client will receive a waiver as well.

Group training classes must be attended on the dates and times the dog is registered for. Puppy and Family Dog Manners classes ONLY will receive 1 makeup lesson.

Dog Behavior:

All of our contracts mandate that the owner maintain sole responsibility for his or her dog’s behavior.

Group Classes:

Dogs that exhibit disruptive or aggressive behavior in group classes may be dismissed from class at the instructor’s sole discretion. If the class instructor dismisses a dog, the owners may receive a pro-rated refund for remaining sessions only.

Private Training:

Dogs are very rarely dismissed from private training due to behavior, but if they are, owners may receive a pro-rated refund for remaining sessions only. We do require owners to be compliant to safety protocols that may include muzzling, leashing, restricting access to other people, and use of equipment such as a head halter. Dismissal of a client due to refusal to follow safety protocols does not create an exception to our refund policy.

Treatment of Animals:

We do not allow physical punishment or intimidation of dogs by our trainers or by our clients during training sessions. If you physically punish or intimidate your dog (including but not limited to hitting, kicking, screaming at, spanking, shocking, or choking) you will be asked to stop. Persisting in this behavior or becoming confrontational will result in dismissal. Dismissal for violating this policy does not create an exception to our refund policy. Owners are solely responsible for their actions.

Vaccinations:

Group Classes:

All dogs attending Hands Full Dog Training classes at any of our facilities must have proof of appropriate vaccinations, performed by a veterinarian, per individual class requirements. It is the owners’ responsibility to ensure the dog is up-to-date and that their vaccinations meet our requirements. If a dog does not have a veterinary record on file of the required vaccinations, they will not be allowed into the facility. This event does not constitute an exception to our refund or makeup lesson policy.

Private Training:

Dogs attending private training at their own home or in a public area must have proof of current rabies vaccination. If a private session is held at a training facility, the group class vaccination requirements apply.

COVID-19 Specific Policies:

At this time all of our trainers are fully vaccinated per CDC guidelines (2+ weeks after the final dose).

Our trainers conduct private lessons with a variety of people, including some of the most vulnerable in our population.  Keeping our clients and our trainers healthy is important to us.  In addition to regular sanitizing and cleaning of all things used during our classes, our trainers do not work sick, and we will be happy to reschedule your session if you are ill.

In addition, please keep in mind the following questions:

1. Has anyone in the home traveled within the last 14 days to/from a state or country identified as a hot spot?

2. Has anyone in the home been exposed to an individual diagnosed with COVID-19?

3. Is anyone in the home showing signs of illness including: • A fever greater than 100 degrees; • Cough; and/or • Shortness of breath.

The CDC’s guidelines for quarantine inform our policies.  If the answer to any of the above questions is yes, the following shall apply:

Group Classes:

All group class attendees are required to wear face masks as of August 16, 2021. We will continue to follow CDC guidance on this issue.

If you have had contact with a person with a confirmed positive case, you are welcome back to class 14 days after your last contact with the infected person.  If you have had contact with someone who is waiting for a test result, you are welcome back to class when the person awaiting their results receives a negative test, or you have completed 14 days of quarantine.

All enrollees are given complimentary access to our Family Dog Manners Online curriculum upon request.  This curriculum includes all of your classes, and access to these classes for one year.

Should you need to miss class for any reason, the online lesson will serve as your class for the week.  You can view the lesson, then submit videos of you working through the lesson’s skills with your dog, and your trainers will provide feedback.

Private Training:

Our clients who are fully vaccinated may opt not to wear face masks in private lessons. However, please be willing to mask if requested, for example, if you are working in close quarters.

If you have had contact with a person waiting on results of a COVID-19 test, please notify us as soon as possible before your session.  If you are feeling well, we will continue the session virtually via Zoom.  If you are ill, we will reschedule your session for the week following the end of your package.

If you are waiting for test results, or to find out if you are a direct contact, your session may be conducted virtually.  In person sessions may resume after your contact has received a negative test result, or you have completed two weeks of quarantine.

You may, at any time, opt for a Zoom session in place of an in-home session.  Please give us 12 hours’ notice for a change to Zoom.
